The Wal-Mart release of a 2-Disc special edition of Transformers will include an exclusive prequel called "Tranformers: Beginnings."

Michael Bay Likely to Return for Sequel to $695 million Transformers!
Paramount and DreamWorks have ramped up production on the Sequel to Transformers. We will likely see Michael Bay at the helm with Steven Spielberg as Executive Producer. They are in a hurry to get all the details in place to begin production as soon as possible to avoid the strike that is inevitable next summer. The summer blockbuster has made $695 million since it's opening on July 3. A 2-disc special edition DVD will be available on October 16th.

Transformers 2 in June 2009!
Paramount has finally confirmed that Transformers 2 will be released in theatres on June 29, 2009. They had to take into consideration the 12 months it took to make the first Transformers, and the impending strike next summer.
